Enrollment Numbers at Perham-Dent Public Schools Higher than Expected

PERHAM (KDLM) – Enrollment numbers at Perham-Dent Public Schools are higher than expected.

With the first day of school in the books, staff at Heart of the Lakes Elementary, Prairie Wind Middle School and Perham High School recorded an increase of 61 students from opening day in 2021 compared to opening day in 2022. From the last day of school in 2022, the district saw an overall increase of 87 students.

“We are 31 higher than our enrollment projection,” Independent School Board 549’s Superintendent Mitch Anderson said. “There will be a few adjustments made over the next
couple of days, but overall we are very happy with the trajectory of our K-12 enrollment.”

The total number of students in the district sits at 1,612. Enrollment numbers are 544 students for the Heart of the Lakes Elementary, 528 for Prairie Wind Middle School and 540 at the Perham High School.

The projected enrollment number for the 2022-23 school year was 1,581 students.
