BLOOMINGTON, MN (KDLM/KPRW) – Perham’s Gamble Bye and Ben Shumansky, and Detroit Lakes’ Grady Kirchner and Jacob Thomas competed in Saturday’s Legion All-Star Game at Veteran’s Park in Minnetonka on Saturday, with Team Red defeating Team White 8-0.

Team Red took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Shumansky helped power a seven-run eighth inning for Team Red with an RBI single, then later scored on an error. Shumansky started the game at catcher and was 1-3, but also reached on a fielding error by the centerfielder.

Jacob Thomas started at third base for Team Red and was 1-3 in the game with a single in the first inning.

Grady Kirchner entered the game at catcher for Team White in the fifth inning and went 0-3 with two strikeouts. Gamble Bye did not get into the game, however he did play in Perham’s Region 14C playoff game that night.
