86th Annual Northwest Water Carnival Full List of Events

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The 86th Annual Detroit Lakes Water Carnival kicks off Friday, July 8.

The Water Carnival is one of the longest running festivals in the state of Minnesota.

This year’s Admirals of the Water Carnival are Andrew Lessin and Kasey Fetzer who are helping to organize the more than 60 events which will take place over ten days.

“It’s a great event to bring family out, we have a lot of kid friendly events and a lot of events for the adults at night too,” said Fetzer.

The Detroit Lakes Jaycees, an all-volunteer civic organization host the Water Carnival each year which is supported by the Lakes Area business community. Highlights this year include a new event, the Sailboat Regatta, Xtreme Tippy Cup, Water Fights, Bash on the Beach featuring Hairball and Eddie Montgomery and the Parade of the Northwest.
