OTTER TAIL COUNTY (KDLM) – A man accused of shooting at a Conservation Officer in Otter Tail County will spend 60 days in jail and serve seven years of probation after taking a plea deal.
Derrick Sundeen of Dalton, MN rolled his pickup, September 3, 2021; A Conservation Officer came upon the vehicle in a ditch near Otter Tail County Highway 37 and Bankers Drive. While attempting to assist Sundeen, he was found to be armed and fired in the direction of the Conservation Officer.
Negotiators then worked to resolve the situation. Sundeen fired several more indiscriminate rounds during a standoff that lasted more than an hour.
Sundeen had been charged with attempted murder, 1st and 2nd Degree Assault, and DWI.
