DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – A Detroit Lakes resident needed to get the police involved when their dog sitter reportedly sold their dog.
Around 5:30pm on Valentine’s Day, the Detroit Lakes Police were called to the 800 block of East Central Street. The resident reported a dog sitter sold their dog while they were away.
The Detroit Lakes police was able to locate the dog and returned it to its owner.
The American Humane Association estimates that close to 10 million dogs and cats are lost or stolen in the US every year.
