DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Detroit Lakes High School students return to in-person learning today for the first time nearly a year.
During the Detroit Lakes School Board meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 8, Superintendent Mark Jenson indicated that active COVID case numbers within Becker County and the School District have remained low.
“We pitched it to regional support and then the COVID team and thumbs up – so we’re bringing everyone back on the 16th”.
The District began in-person learning for elementary students on January 19, 2021 and welcomed middle school students through grade 9 back to in-person learning full-time on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021. It will be the first time in nearly a year (school closures began statewide due to the Coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday, March 17, 2020) with the entire district in an in-person learning model when High School students return on Feb. 16, 2021.
