State Golf Tournaments Begin On Tuesday

(KDLM) – The 2022 State Boys and Girls Golf tournaments are set to tee off on Tuesday, June 14th at three different courses across the state.

The Class A Tournament will be held at the Par 72 Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker. Both the boys and girls teams from Fertile-Beltrami Falcons (Section 8A champions) and Park Christian Falcons (Section 6A champions) will compete for state titles. Sophie Hillman and Adysen Tysdal of Ottertail Central, Amber Frigaard and Hudson Risbrudt of Underwood, Frankie Omang of Fosston, Dawson Wienbar of Breckenridge, Blake McMullen of Mahnomen/Waubun and Ryan Engel of Ada-Borup-West will all be competing individually.

The Class AA tournament will be held at the Par 72 Ridges of Sand Creek in Jordan. The Fergus Falls girls team won Section 8AA and will travel down to compete for a team championship. Ryan Nelson and Riley McGovern of Fergus Falls, Sophie Cook of Hawley, Carter White and Mallory Uselman of Staples-Motley, Anna Eckmann and Madysen Maninga of Park Rapids, and Marcus Belka and Mallory Belka of Perham will be competing for individual state titles.

Class AAA will be held at the Par 72 Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids. Miss Minnesota Golf finalist McKenna Mallow and Hanna Knoop of Detroit Lakes will compete for individual state titles. The boys and girls teams from Alexandria both won their respective section tournaments and will compete for team state championships.

Section champion boys will tee off at 7:30 am on Tuesday, followed by individual participants at 8:24. Section champion girls will tee off at 12:00 followed by the individual participants at 12:54.
