Baseball Recap: Section Title Games Taking Shape

(KDLM) – High School Baseball section championship games will take place this Thursday across the state.

On Tuesday, Roseau beat Perham 8-3, sending the Yellowjackets to the elimination bracket. Perham will face Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the final elimination bracket Thursday at noon, with the winner facing Roseau for the 8AA Championship.

New York Mills lost to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 2-0 yesterday in the Section 6A playoffs to drop to the elimination bracket. They’ll face Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Thursday at noon. The winner will climb back into the Championship bracket to face KMS at 2:30.

In Section 8A, Ada-Borup-West will play Sacred Heart School for the section championship at 2:00 tomorrow. Ada Borup West beat Fosston 1-0 on Tuesday to eliminate the Greyhounds and reach the section championship game.

In Section 5A, the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Raiders are one win away from the State Tournament. They’ll face Hinkley-Finlayson on Thursday at 4:30. BHV beat Hinkley in the section semifinals 8-2 on Monday to send them to the elimination bracket.

In 6AA, Wadena Deer Creek beat Eden-Valley Watkins 5-1 in the elimination bracket to make it back up to the Championship Game. The Wolverines will have to beat Albany twice on Thursday to get to the State Tournament. The Huskies beat the Wolverines 7-3 on Monday.
