Laker Boys Golf Ties For Sixth Place At Brainerd Invitational

BRAINERD, MN (KDLM) – The Laker Boys golf team was at Craguns in Brainerd on Wednesday for the 24-team Brainerd Invitational At The Legacy, and finished tied with Chanhassen for sixth place with a 303.

Eastview won the meet with a 289.

Nick Tobkin tied for ninth overall with a two-over-par for the afternoon (72), shooting +1 on the front 9 and +1 on the back while carding two birdies on the back 9. Carter Whitworth was +5 (75), Tyler Stensgard was +6 (76), Lawsen Justesen was +10 (80, Logan Schons was +11 (81) and Jack Syltie was +13 (83).

Joey Rohlwing of Eastview was the medalist by shooting a -2 (68) for the round. Three other golfers (Lance Hamack/Sartell, Jake Birdwell/Spring Lake Park, and Tyler Wanous/Eastview) tied for second with an even-par.

The Lakers will have their final regular-season meet of the year on Thursday at Rose Creek in Fargo before getting ready for the Section 8AAA Tournament at Headwaters Golf Club in Park Rapids late next week.
