Laker Girls Golf Finishes Second at Madden’s Invite; Mallow co-medalist

BRAINERD, MN (KDLM) – The Laker Girls golf team finished second at The Classic Invitational at Madden’s in Brainerd on Wednesday, finishing with a 336, only three shots behind first-place Brainerd.

McKenna Mallow was the co-medalist with Brainerd’s Izzy Olson. Both finished +8 on the Par 72 course. Mallow finished +5 on the front nine, and +3 on the back.

Hanna Knoop finished tied for third with an 82 and Tatum Gatheridge, competing for the first time after an injury a few weeks ago, finished in sixth place with an 83.

The Laker JV team will host a meet at the Lakeview Golf Course tomorrow at 1:00. Up next for the varsity team: a spot in a huge two-day, 28-team tournament loaded with AAA state-level competition at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids on Friday and Saturday.
