
Fire in Timber Creek neighborhood of Detroit Lakes, May 11, 2022
DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – A lightning strike is suspected to have ignited a large house fire in Detroit Lakes, Wednesday evening.
A home in the Timber Creek neighborhood of Detroit Lakes was apparently struck by lightning around 6 p.m. and soon after the roof was engulfed in flames.
Witnesses were able to see flames from across Big Detroit Lake as fire crews battled the blaze. Residents in the neighborhood have indicated that no one was injured.
KDLM has reached out to the Detroit Lakes Fire Department for additional details and will report them as we receive them.
