Alexandria Man’s S’more Invention Taking off Just in Time for Summer

ALEXANDRIA (KDLM) – An Alexandria man may have reinvented the S’more with a new product he calls the ‘Marshmallow Mitt’.

Jeff Roste developed the marshmallow roasting tool after his kids asked him to create a better way to roast marshmallows. “Spending time around the campfire with our kids has always been a memorable time, but as a parent I was never convinced that it was the “SAFEST” or best way to roast a marshmallow. Having sharp-ended poker sticks around little children was a concern,” Roste said.

After sketching his idea on a napkin and several years of product development the Marshmallow Mitt was born.

The mitt, made of food safe silicone holds the marshmallow in place and according to Roste eliminates the drooping and dropping of the marshmallow in the fire. Each mitt has a telescoping rod that extends 40″ and comes with a marshmallow removing device to easily remove the marshmallow without burning your hands.

The product has gained some notoriety just in time for summer. Roste sells his Marshmallow Mitt on his website outdoorfunforall.com for $14.95 as well as his companion invention, the Hotdog Mitt.
