Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Holy Rosary Catholic Schools raised nearly $32,000 at their annual Spring Interlude on April 29th.

Holy Rosary’s Spring Interlude was established in 2002 to help support music and art programs at the school.

At the event, Jaime McDougall presented Terri Paskey with the ninth-annual Florence Hutchinson Legacy Award.

“Working at Holy Rosary School was the perfect job while raising children,” said Paskey. “The staff, students, and parents were like family. Their support, guidance, and friendship were greatly appreciated. During my 25 years at Holy Rosary, I learned skills, endured challenges, and created memories which will have forever changed my life.”

The Florence Hutchinson Legacy Award is given annually to acknowledge the commitment of another community member who follows in Hutchinson’s tradition of cheerful service to our Church and the people it serves. Hutchinson served at the church from 1977-2008 and was awarded the inaugural award in 2013.

The school is still about $8,000 short of their Wish List goal, which includes funding for new desks and chairs for classrooms, musical instruments, a smartboard for the sixth-grade classroom, a charter bus for next year’s middle school field trip, and new wireless microphones for school programs. You can make a one-time donation or set up a Teacher Endowment Fund at HRinterlude.givesmart.com.
