Laker Boys Track and Field Take Third At Craig Fredrickson Memorial Invite

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Ethan Carrier won the 100m, the 200m and was a part of the first-place 4×100 team as Detroit Lakes took third place at their Craig Fredrickson Memorial Invite at Mollberg Field on Thursday.

Carrier won the 100m with a time of 11.50, the 200m with a 23.68 and, along with teammates Cameron Marxen, Hunter Zempel and Ethan Carrier, won the 4×100 with a time of 44.64.

Alexander Fletcher (16.41) and Zach Olson (16.91) finished one-two in the 110m Hurdles.

Ethan Lundberg, Chuck Kalina, Hunter Zempel, and Jamus Walz finished second in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:38.08…less than a second behind Park Rapids for first place. Detroit Lakes also placed second in the 4×400 relay with Jack Pace, Cameron Marxen, Joe Skinner, and Zach Olson finishing in 3:46.11.

Pace was also third in the 100m (12.01), Charlie Zok was eighth (12.34) and Hunter Zempel was ninth (12.34). Brandton Marsh was third in the 200m (24.02), Cameron Marxen took fifth (24.48), and Caden Strand was seventh (24.75).

Evan Thomas placed fifth in the 400m (57.02) and Devon Berg was tenth (1:00.40). Brayden Francis was ninth (5:17.09) and Jackson Maasjo was tenth (5:18.14) in the 1600m. Micah Barberg finished fifth in the 3200m with a time of 11:52.74.

In the field events, Alexander Fletcher won the High Jump with a jump of six feet even. Brandton Marsh won the Triple Jump with a 42-foot leap and finished eighth with a 5-06.00. Fletcher also tied for fourth in the pole vault with a 10-06.00. Coye Braten was eighth in the pole vault with an 8-06.00.

KaDan Smith was seventh in the Long Jump (17.07.25), Anthony Reading was eighth (17.06.50) and Jack Pace was eleventh (17.04-50).

Mason Carrier was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 43-00.00, Jacob Ehnert was seventh with a 41-00.00, and Braydon Sjoblom was tenth with a 38-04.00.

Lawson Greene was fifth in the discus with a throw of 119-04, Charlie Zok was seventh (109-08), and Ehnert was tenth (107-00).

The Lakers next meet will be the True Team Meet in Fergus Falls next Tuesday.
