DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Fire Department will hold an employment open house, Wednesday.
The event, which will be held from 6-7 p.m. at the Detroit Lakes Fire Department on Main Street will give residents an opportunity to learn about the Department and the benefits of becoming a firefighter.
Andy Castagmeri, a Captain with the Detroit Lakes Fire Department says the adrenaline is one of the reasons he loves being a firefighter, “Even after 7 years I still get excited when the pager goes off and you get to go to a call.”
Those interested in working with the Detroit Lakes Fire Department must be 21 years of age or older and are paid $15 per hour while on call.
