Girls State Basketball Brackets Released; Lakers Play #3 Totino-Grace

(KDLM) – The field is set for the 2022 Minnesota Girls State Basketball Tournament, which begins on Wednesday with games scheduled at both Williams Arena and the Maturi Pavillion on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

The Detroit Lakes Lakers will represent Section 8AAA in this year’s tournament after defeating Willmar in the title game last Thursday night. The unseeded Lakers will face three-seed Totino-Grace at 4:00 pm at the Maturi Pavillion on Wednesday in the Class AAA quarterfinals. The Class AAA semifinals will take place at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday at Williams Arena.

The Fergus Falls Otters will also be at the state tournament after defeating Menahga in the Class 8AA championship on Friday night. The Otters are the number two seed in the tournament and will face the 29-1 Pequot Lakes Patriots on Wednesday at 6:00. The Class AA semifinals will be at Williams Arena on Friday at 6 pm and 8 pm.

The State Championshp games for all classes will be on Saturday at Williams Areana.
