PARK RAPIDS, MN (KDLM) – Detroit Lakes girls basketball never trailed on Tuesday night against the Park Rapids Panthers for their 10th win of the season, defeating Park Rapids 60-46.
DL’s Jacee Hauser picked up a double-double on the road with 18 points and ten rebounds. Park Rapids was led by Gabi Shepersky, who finished the game with 16 points.
Park Rapids is now 11-12 overall and dropped to 5-4 in the Midstate Conference.
The win improves the Lakers’ record to 10-12 overall, and they are now 7-2 in the Midstate Conference. The conference win all but assures Detroit Lakes 2nd place in the Midstate this year behind Pequot Lakes, who is currently 8-0 in the conference and 23-1 overall.
The Lakers will wrap up the regular season on Friday night when they host Crosby-Ironton. That game can be heard on KDLM, with pregame coverage beginning at 7:00 pm. After the regular season wraps up, the Section 8AAA playoff seeds will be announced on Monday. Detroit Lakes could finish as high as the three seed or as low as the five seed depending on where they finish after the QRF ranking has been calculated. The QRF determines the playoff seeds for the six teams that make up Section 8AAA.
