Hawley, MN (KDLM/KRCQ) – Senior cross country runner Lily Peterson has been named this week’s MSHSL Most Valuable Teammate.
The Minnesota State High School League recognizes students that demonstrate characteristics of a Valuable Teammate, including being a positive influence on their team, exemplifying leadership and sportsmanship, and being respectful, reliable, and supportive of others.
Peterson helped lead Hawley to a fourth-place finish at the State Cross Country Meet in early November, finishing 68th with a time of 20:57.36.
“Peterson has helped rejuvenate the Hawley cross country program with her talent and passions,” says the MSHSL. “Her passion is contagious and she truly values the team aspect of cross country. She knows it is much easier to perform when you have others in your foxhole going through the same workouts and races. She understands that completely and helps elevate her teammates.”
Congratulations to this week’s Most Valuable Teammate, Lily Peterson of Hawley.
