Detroit Lakes Wrestling Splits Their First Home Triangular of the Season

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The #3 ranked Laker wrestling team hosted their first home triangular meet of the season on Saturday as #12 Badger-Greenbush-Middle River and United North Central came to the Ralph Anderson Gymnasium. Detroit Lakes entered the day with a record of 7-1 and were looking to bounce back after sustaining their first loss of the season earlier in the week against Thief River Falls. The Lakers split the tri with a win against BGMR 38-28 and falling to UNC 36-31. Detroit Lakes Senior Blaine Henderson stayed perfect on the season at 10-0. He recorded two wins in his matches and notched a personal milestone by recording his 100th career varsity victory.

Detroit Lakes is now 8-2 on the year and will next host the Frazee Hornets and Ottertail Central on Thursday.

Girls Hockey: Detroit Lakes dominated Prairie Center on Saturday at the Kent Freeman Arena winning 4-1 and improving to 3-1 on the season. The Lakers outshot Prairrie Centre 74-8 and were lead to victory by goals from Hadlee Justesen, Lauren McDougall, Madison Olson, and Ella Hess. The Lakers have won three straight games and will look to keep the streak going as they are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Pequot Lakes.
