Candy Cane Hunt Returns to Detroit Lakes

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Jaycees are hosting a Candy Cane Hunt again this year to help raise money for local organizations.

For a small donation the Jaycees will hide candy canes throughout your front yard to be discovered by your kids on Saturday, Dec. 18.

Mandy Tretbar says the event was originally planned last year as a way to spread some holiday cheer during the pandemic, “With social distancing and gatherings, I thought that this would be a great way to spread some holiday cheer and for the Jaycees to have an event.”

With the success of last year’s event the group is excited to do it again. The deadline to order is Wednesday, Dec. 15 and range from 20 candy canes for $10 all the way up to 100 candy canes for $50. To register, visit the DL Jaycees on Facebook.
