DETROIT LAKES (KDLM/KNSI) – The coldest weather of the season blew into the Lakes Area Monday.
The National Weather Service says temperatures dipped to nearly 15 below in some areas with windchill values at 20 below. The cold air follows nearly 6 inches of snow that fell in the Lakes Area Saturday night.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is continuing to urge drivers to be cautious while they clear roadways of slick ice.
The Minnesota State Patrol says there were nearly 300 crashes reported resulting in over 25 injuries over the last several days.
