DETRIOT LAKES (KDLM) – A significant amount of snow is expected in the Lakes Area.
The winter storm will arrive Saturday evening and continue into Sunday evening, and come in two rounds. The first round will bring the snow and the second round will bring strong north winds.
Snow will lift north overnight into the morning. Snowfall rates are expected to be around 0.5 inch per hour most areas. Most of the snow will occur Saturday evening into Sunday morning, then the strong winds will kick in by Sunday afternoon and evening.
The most snow is expected along the highway 2 corridor and the strongest winds are expected along and west of the Red River Valley.
