Two Lakes Area Businesses Partner in Unique Way

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Two Lakes Area businesses have come together in a unique way.

Dynamic Homes has collected several years’ worth of scrap wood from their custom home building business and partnered with Bergen’s Greenhouses, who will use the scraps to heat their greenhouses this winter in Detroit Lakes.

A photo posted to Bergen’s facebook page showed a pile of scrap wood that they say is equivalent to over 20 semi trailer loads. “We will use the chips to fire one of our hot water boilers,” the company says.

The boiler generates enough heat to keep almost 4 acres of greenhouse warm during the night during the cold winter months.
