FERGUS FALLS (KDLM/KBRF) – An Otter Tail County jail inmate that was found unresponsive in her cell has been identified.
Lavuya Jade Baker, 28 years old, from Wadena was found during a routine wellness check Wednesday morning. Responding officers, along with correctional staff and EMS, attempted life saving measures, but were unsuccessful.
Baker was the sole occupant of the cell at the time of the incident.
Baker’s body was taken to Lake Region Hospital for autopsy, and the results of the autopsy are pending. The cause of her death remains under investigation.
