Man Given 19 Year Prison Sentence for Fergus Falls Crash that Killed Two

FERGUS FALLS (KDLM) — A man involved in a deadly chase that killed two people in Fergus Falls has been sentenced to 19 years in prison.

Cody Freitag was sentenced, Monday after pleading guilty to two counts of fleeing a police officer. Frietag struck and killed 72-year-old Steven Christianson and his 71-year-old wife, Diane, in October, 2020 while being pursued by police.

An Otter Tail County judge sentenced Freitag to 225 months in prison with credit for 390 days served.
