Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Cultural and Community Center (DLCCC) has been making some improvements to the facility over the past few weeks.

“We want to give our members and visitors a warm, inviting, welcoming feel,” says DLCCC CEO Peter Jacobson. “Our facility is 20 years old, and we’ve been very fortunate to have a group of donors that have stepped up and are funding 100% of these improvements.”

The check-in area has received a new coat of paint and new carpet, as has the second-level fitness studio.

“The upstairs fitness area has been renovated so that people can spread out and do the kinds of exercises that fit into their routines,” adds Jacobson. “We’re replacing the flooring in some of the other upstairs areas. We’ve also added some new equipment up there as well. There are also plans to renovate our locker rooms this fall and winter, so there are a lots of exciting changes coming.”

The DLCCC is currently holding its Fall Membership Drive through November 1st and is offering some free fitness demos and classes. You can find more information online at DLCCC.org.
