Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Three Minnesota home runs weren’t enough Wednesday night, as the Athletics rallied for a 7-4 win and took two of three from the Twins at Sutter Health Park.

Brooks Lee, Trevor Larnach and Kaelen Culpepper each hit a solo shot off A’s starter J.T. Ginn, with Lee and Larnach going back-to-back in the second to help stake Twins starter Connor Prielipp to a 4-2 lead.

That held up until the sixth, when Lawrence Butler homered and Alika Williams tripled home two runs in a four-run inning that flipped the game. Tommy White finished with three hits for the A’s. Minnesota put two runners on in the ninth before Elvis Alvarado struck out Luke Keaschall to end it.

The Twins have now lost five of six and sit at 64-70, third in the American League Central. They return home Friday, August 28th to open a three-game set with the division-leading White Sox, who come in at 70-63. First pitch is 7:10 p.m. at Target Field.
