Detroit Lakes, MN – A Frazee woman is facing felony charges for damaging her boyfriend’s pickup with an axe.
On Thursday, 19-year-old Kaycee Leigh Gullickson made her first court appearance and has been charged with 1st degree damage to property. Becker County prosecutors say that in December, Detroit Lakes Police responded to a property damage report. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who said that he and Gullickson were in a relationship and had been arguing. The victim said he left the residence to complete some work, and later got a call from Gullickson asking, “how his truck looked now.”
Officers observed damage to the driver’s side windows, rear cab windows, and one passenger side window of the pickup. There were also several apparent punctures to the rear of the cab, consistent with damage from an axe. There was an axe located on the back of the truck cab. The victim’s TV, gaming console, and fan were also damaged. The estimate for the damage caused totaled over $4,200.
Gullickson spoke with officers and confirmed that she and the victim were in a relationship and that she had caused damage to the truck and other items.
