White Earth Unofficial General Election Results
Challenger Jacob McArthur defeated incumbent Michael “Mike” LaRoque in the race for White Earth Reservation Secretary-Treasurer, according to unofficial results from the White Earth Reservation General Election held Tuesday, June 9.
McArthur received 1,065 votes, while LaRoque, the incumbent, received 664 votes in the contest for the four-year position.
Voters also selected representatives for District I and District II, with both positions carrying four-year terms.
In the District I Representative race, incumbent Henry G. Fox narrowly held off challenger Andy “Jack” Auginaush. Fox received 198 votes compared to 185 votes for Auginaush, a margin of 13 votes.
In District II, Alrick “Son” Accobee won the seat with 470 votes, defeating Sheri Kay Snetsinger, who received 235 votes.
The White Earth Reservation Tribal Council said the results are unofficial pending certification. Official election results were expected to be certified later Wednesday afternoon.
The election determined three positions on the White Earth Reservation Tribal Council, all serving four-year terms.
