The summer Rec program hosted by the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center is now underway at City Park in Detroit Lakes.
According to DLCCC staff, the program began June 1 and offers a variety of free activities for area youth throughout the summer. Participants can enjoy games, crafts, equipment checkout, and organized group activities each day.
Available activities include board games, relay races, dodgeball, ping pong, basketball, whiffle ball, kickball, disc golf, and tennis ball home derby. Free-play opportunities and group games or crafts are offered both in the morning and afternoon.
The Rec program is located near the tennis courts at City Park. Equipment checkout is available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, with the program closed from noon to 1 pm for lunch. Rec is closed if it rains.
DLCCC staff recommend that children attending without a parent be at least 8 years old.
