Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves are back on the court tonight for a pivotal Game 5 of their Western Conference Semifinal series against the San Antonio Spurs.
The best-of-seven series is tied at two games apiece after Minnesota’s 114-109 win in Game 4 on Sunday at Target Center. Anthony Edwards led the way with 36 points.
Spurs center Victor Wembanyama will be available tonight after the NBA opted not to issue supplemental discipline for the elbow that got him ejected in Game 4. Wembanyama was hit with a Flagrant 2 foul early in the second quarter after striking Naz Reid in the jaw and neck area as Reid and Jaden McDaniels double-teamed him following a rebound. Reid stayed in the game. The 7-foot-4 Wembanyama, who was named Defensive Player of the Year, was disqualified with 8:39 left in the second quarter and watched the rest of the game from the locker room.
Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox is listed as questionable with an ankle injury.
San Antonio holds home-court advantage as the second seed in the West. The Spurs are favored by 10 and a half points tonight. Tip-off from Frost Bank Center is set for 7 p.m. Game 6 is scheduled for Friday night back at Target Center.
You can catch the game on NBC.
