Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Vikings have identified their first outside candidate to become the team’s next general manager.
The Vikings have requested permission to interview Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Terrance Gray, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Wednesday.
Gray is a familiar name in Minnesota. He spent 11 seasons as a college scout for the Vikings from 2006 through 2016 before joining the Bills in 2017, where he has risen to assistant general manager. Earlier in his career, Gray worked in the Kansas City Chiefs’ front office.
The Purple are looking to replace Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who was fired in January after four seasons. Executive vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski has been handling general manager duties on an interim basis through free agency and the draft, and is also considered a candidate for the full-time job.
Minnesota finished 9-8 last season, third in the NFC North.
