A local nonprofit is working to bring new life to a historic landmark in Hawley.
The Merry Melody Council for the Arts has launched its “Garrick Revival Campaign,” with plans to transform the Garrick Theatre into a regional hub for music, theater, and arts education.
The organization, an extension of the Merry Melody Music Academy, has already served more than 500 families across the lakes area through flexible classes, scholarships, and community programming.
Leah Knight, director of the academy, says the revitalized theater would create an inclusive space for people of all ages to explore the arts, while strengthening cultural opportunities in the region. She says the project has the potential to make a lasting impact on both arts education and community connection.
