Staples, MN – A Staples woman has been charged for having her children help her make sexual videos for her long-distance boyfriend.
Prosecutors say that between August and October 2025, 40-year-old Sara Ann Tangeman made her children, a 17-year-old and a 10-year-old, help her create sexual fetish videos to send to her online boyfriend “Nate.” The videos consisted of “messy” liquids being dumped/poured/rubbed on Tangeman and the 17-year-old while they were naked or in undergarments.
Staples police were informed of the videos being made in late October after the oldest child told a relative about what was happening. Officers spoke with Tangeman, who said that she had been dating Nate online for a few months, and he had wanted her to dump slime or chocolate syrup on herself and her eldest child. She said that in videos with the child, they were both fully clothed and denied taking video of the child naked. Tangeman also told officers that for one of the videos, she had her youngest dump substances on her.
A search warrant for Tangeman’s phone found videos matching descriptions from Tangeman and the eldest child, and in at least one, the minor was naked.
Tangeman made her first court appearance on Monday and has been charged with using minors in a sexual performance, disseminating child sexual abuse materials, and possessing child sexual abuse materials.
