The Lake Agassiz Regional Library is hosting a special author event featuring Patty Wetterling and co-author Joy Baker as they share the story behind their memoir, Dear Jacob: A Mother’s Journey of Hope.

During the program, Wetterling and Baker will discuss the bond they formed and the perseverance that helped bring renewed attention to the decades-long search for Jacob Wetterling. Baker’s independent research played a key role in the eventual breakthrough in the case.

The tour’s last stop will be in Detroit Lakes at the Detroit Lakes Public Library on Wednesday, May 13th at 6 p.m. Books will be available through Bluebird Books..

Additional stops on the tour include Breckenridge, Moorhead, Mahnomen, Crookston, and Bagley.

Jacob Wetterling was 11 years old when he was abducted in 1989. In response, his parents and community members founded the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center in 1990, transforming personal tragedy into a mission of child safety education, prevention, and advocacy.

The organization continues to honor Jacob’s legacy by working to protect children and build safer communities.

More information about the event schedule is available on the Lake Agassiz Regional Library website.
