Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins scored twice in the top of the ninth inning to beat the New York Mets 5-3 at Citi Field in Flushing, New York.
Luke Keaschall delivered the go-ahead single in the decisive frame. Byron Buxton also contributed to the win with his 4th home run of the season.
Reliever Cole Sands earned his first win of the year.
With the victory, the Twins improved to 12-11 on the season. Minnesota and New York meet again tonight in the second game of the series.
