Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves dropped their third straight game Sunday, surrendering a halftime lead and falling to the Charlotte Hornets 122-108 at Target Center.
Minnesota led by five at the break but was outscored 67-48 in the second half as Charlotte steadily pulled away. The Hornets’ biggest advantage reached 22 points in the final quarter.
LaMelo Ball led Charlotte with 35 points on 13-of-22 shooting, adding eight assists. Miles Bridges contributed 25 points on a near-perfect 10-of-12 from the field, connecting on all four of his three-point attempts.
Julius Randle paced Minnesota with 26 points and eight rebounds. Bones Hyland added 18 off the bench. Rudy Gobert pulled down 10 boards but was held to 12 points and committed three turnovers.
The Wolves finished with 18 total turnovers, which Charlotte converted into 22 points. Minnesota also allowed 24 second-chance points on 16 Charlotte offensive rebounds.
The loss drops Minnesota to 46-32, holding the sixth seed in the Western Conference with six regular-season games remaining. The Timberwolves visit the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night.
