Wild Look to Build Momentum in Tampa Bay

By Jake Judd Mar 24, 2026 | 7:21 AM

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild head to Tampa Bay tonight looking to string together back-to-back wins when they take on the Lightning in a key late-season interconference matchup. Puck drop is set for 6:30 p.m.

Minnesota is riding high after a hard-fought 2-1 overtime victory over the Dallas Stars this past Saturday — a welcome result against one of the Western Conference’s elite clubs. The Wild sit third in the Central Division with a 40-19 record, sandwiched between the division-leading Colorado Avalanche (46-13) and the Stars (43-16). With the playoffs on the horizon, every point matters, and a road win tonight would go a long way in solidifying their postseason positioning.

Standing in their way is a Tampa Bay Lightning squad that is no easy out. The Lightning are second in the Atlantic Division at 43-21, making tonight’s game a clash between two of the NHL’s stronger teams. The oddsmakers favor Tampa Bay at home, giving the Lightning a 60.5% win probability heading into tonight’s contest.
