Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Bones Hyland had a night to remember inside TD Garden on Sunday, pouring in a game-high 23 points off the bench to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves past the Boston Celtics 102-92, snapping Boston’s winning streak in the process.

Hyland was the catalyst all night long, shooting an efficient 8-of-14 from the floor — including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc — while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. He also chipped in 11 fast break points, repeatedly catching the Celtics in transition and turning defense into offense for Minnesota.

Minnesota’s bench was a major story in the win, outscoring Boston’s reserves 40-26 and proving to be the difference in a game that was far more competitive than the final score suggests. The Timberwolves trailed after the first quarter before flipping the script with a dominant 33-21 second quarter that set the tone.

Jaden McDaniels added 19 points on 44% shooting, while Ayo Dosunmu contributed 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Rudy Gobert anchored the front court on both ends, pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds and helping Minnesota win the glass battle. Julius Randle chipped in nine points and nine assists, falling just short of a double-double.

The Timberwolves held Boston to just 15 points in the fourth quarter, closing the game on a decisive run and never looking back. Minnesota led by as many as 16 points during the contest.

With the victory, the Wolves improve to 44-28 on the season, winning three of their last four games and positioning themselves squarely in the playoff picture. They currently sit tied for fifth place in the Western Conference.

Minnesota returns home Wednesday night to host the Houston Rockets at Target Center.
