Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Vikings are bolstering their quarterback room, re-signing Carson Wentz to a contract for the 2026 season.
Wentz, 33, spent last season in Minnesota, starting five games and throwing for 1,216 yards, six touchdowns, and five interceptions. His familiarity with the organization made him an obvious target to bring back as a veteran backup option.
With the addition of Wentz, the Vikings now carry four quarterbacks on their roster. Kyler Murray is expected to serve as the starter, with former first-round pick J.J. McCarthy also in the mix. Undrafted prospect Max Brosmer rounds out the depth chart.
The move gives Minnesota experienced insurance at the game’s most important position heading into the 2026 season.
