Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins picked up a 5-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday in Spring Training action at Lee Health Sports Complex.
Luke Keaschall and Victor Caratini each went deep in the win, providing the offensive firepower for Minnesota. On the mound, starter Joe Ryan was sharp through four innings, striking out six batters while surrendering just one run on five hits.
The game was not without concern, however, as infielder Austin Martin left the contest after suffering a concussion. There was no immediate update on his status.
With the win, the Twins moved to 8-14 in Grapefruit League play. Minnesota returns to action Tuesday when Bailey Ober takes the mound against the Philadelphia Phillies.
