Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves couldn’t hold serve on the road Tuesday night, falling to the Los Angeles Lakers 120–106 at Crypto.com Arena in a game that turned on a punishing third quarter the Wolves simply had no answer for.
After playing the Lakers even through two quarters, Minnesota was outscored 39–23 in the third period — a 16-point swing that put the game out of reach before the final frame even began. The collapse extended the Wolves’ losing streak to two games and left the team searching for answers heading into a quick turnaround.
Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle led Minnesota in scoring, each finishing with a team-high 14 points. But with the offense unable to generate consistent looks in the second half and the defense breaking down in the third, individual efforts weren’t enough to keep the Wolves competitive down the stretch.
Minnesota drops to 40–25 on the season, tied for fourth place in the Western Conference.
The Wolves won’t have long to dwell on it. Minnesota stays in Southern California tonight for a matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, making it back-to-back road games against LA-based opponents.
