Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild are back in action following the Olympic break, and they’re carrying serious momentum into enemy territory.

Minnesota travels to Ball Arena tonight to face the Colorado Avalanche with a chance to win their sixth consecutive game, with puck drop set for 8:00 PM.

The Wild have been one of the hottest teams in the NHL heading into the break, capping their pre-Olympic run with a thrilling 6-5 overtime victory over the Nashville Predators on February 5th. That win extended their winning streak to five games and left Minnesota sitting third in the Central Division with a 34-14 record.

Standing in their way is no easy task. The Colorado Avalanche are the class of the Central, leading the division with an impressive 38-9 mark, the best record in the Western Conference.
