Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Anthony Edwards added another milestone to his rapidly growing résumé over the weekend, earning Most Valuable Player honors at the NBA All-Star Game.

The Minnesota Timberwolves superstar scored 32 points across three one-quarter games, leading Team Stars to a victory over Team Stripes in the tournament-style All-Star format finals on Sunday.

Edwards’ performance electrified the crowd and showcased his scoring ability on the league’s biggest midseason stage. His MVP win makes him the first Timberwolves player to earn the honor since Kevin Garnett accomplished the feat in 2003.

The award is the latest achievement for Edwards, who has quickly emerged as one of the NBA’s brightest young stars and a cornerstone of Minnesota’s championship aspirations.

Edwards and the Timberwolves now turn their focus back to the regular season. Minnesota returns to action Friday night when they host the Dallas Mavericks at Target Center.

The Timberwolves currently sit among the top contenders in the Western Conference as Edwards continues to elevate his game on both the national and international stage.
