Wild Send Eight Players to 2026 Winter Olympics

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM)The Minnesota Wild will be well-represented at the 2026 Winter Olympics as eight players prepare to compete for their respective countries over the next two days.

Team Sweden kicks things off today with four Wild players in the lineup against Italy. Defenseman Jonas Brodin and forward Joel Eriksson Ek will join goaltenders Filip Gustavsson and Jesper Wallstedt as Sweden looks to start their Olympic campaign strong.

The American contingent follows tomorrow, with Matt Boldy, Brock Faber, Quinn Hughes, and Nico Sturm all set to make their 2026 Olympic debuts for Team USA.

With nearly a third of the Wild’s roster competing on hockey’s biggest stage, fans back in Minnesota will have plenty to cheer for as the tournament unfolds.
