Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves emphatically ended their five-game losing streak on Monday night, dismantling the Golden State Warriors 108-83 at Target Center in a game that was never really close.
The Wolves dominated from start to finish, building a lead that swelled to as many as 32 points as they handed the Warriors one of their most lopsided defeats of the season. Minnesota’s defense was suffocating, holding Golden State to just 83 points while showcasing the kind of intensity that had been missing during their recent slide.
Julius Randle paced the Timberwolves with 18 points, stepping up in a significant way on a night when the team was without star guard Anthony Edwards. The balanced offensive attack and lockdown defense proved Minnesota doesn’t need to rely solely on its leading scorer to get wins.
The victory improves the Timberwolves to 28-19 on the season.
Minnesota will look to build on this momentum when they travel to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Wednesday night.
