Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams has taken a significant step toward football immortality, earning selection as one of 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
The recognition marks a breakthrough moment for Williams, who has been eligible for enshrinement in Canton for six years but is appearing among the finalists for the first time.
Williams spent 11 seasons anchoring the Vikings defensive line from 2003 to 2013, compiling impressive statistics that include 60 sacks, five interceptions, and four defensive touchdowns. His dominance in the trenches helped define an era of Vikings football.
Alongside Pat Williams, Kevin formed the legendary “Williams Wall,” a defensive line duo that became synonymous with defensive excellence. The pair led Minnesota to the NFL’s top-ranked run defense for three consecutive seasons from 2006 to 2008, frustrating opposing offenses and setting the standard for interior defensive line play.
The final Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be unveiled in February, when the selection committee determines which of the 15 finalists will receive football’s highest individual honor.
Williams now awaits the final vote that could cement his legacy among the game’s all-time greats.
