Frazee, has unveiled a new mural, and many are calling it a beautiful new highlight in the heart of town.
Muralist Lili Lennox was selected out of 4 artists by the Community Mural Committee after submitting examples of her work. She collaborated with the committee to design the unique vision for the mural based on a community survey from the very beginning of the project.
The finished mural highlights all four seasons and showcases not only well-known Frazee landmarks but also the outdoor sports and activities that define the community. It includes scenes of winter fish houses, cross-country skiing, fishing from the City Lake pier, bike trails, and kayaking, along with the Frazee water tower, the Wannigan Park bridge, and, of course, the Big Turkey. Community members have praised it as a vibrant and accurate reflection of life in Frazee.
The artwork is mounted on metal panels on the side of the Frazee Post Office, next to the Main Avenue East gazebo, and was installed on Monday, December 8.
The project was sponsored by the Frazee Area Community Club, with strong community input guiding the design and focus of the mural.
