Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild broke open a tight game with three unanswered third-period goals to defeat the Seattle Kraken 4-1 at Climate Pledge Arena on Monday night.
After a deadlocked 1-1 contest through two periods, Marcus Johansson provided the game-winning goal in the third to put Minnesota ahead for good. The Wild then sealed the victory with a pair of empty-net tallies from Kirill Kaprizov and Vladimir Tarasenko.
Joel Eriksson Ek also found the back of the net for Minnesota in the win.
The victory keeps the Wild firmly in the playoff hunt as they currently sit in third place in the Central Division with 37 points. Minnesota will return home to face the Dallas Stars on Thursday night as they look to build on their road success.
