Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Gophers will close out their 2025 football season with a bowl game appearance in the desert, as the team has been selected to face New Mexico in the Rate Bowl at Chase Field in Phoenix on December 26th.
Minnesota enters the postseason with a 7-5 overall record, including a 5-4 mark in Big Ten conference play. The bowl selection marks a return to familiar territory for the Gophers, who will be playing in the Rate Bowl for the second time in five years.
The December 26th kickoff will give Gophers fans a chance to enjoy some postseason football during the holiday season, with Chase Field providing a climate-controlled venue for the matchup against the Lobos.
